My Bike is Awesome

This is my Surly winter bike:  It’s Awesome! It has a 1000W motor with a 48 volt battery.   I built this ebike because riding in the winter with one speed through slushy snow sucks. I have also equipped it with scwalbe winter marathon studded tires. I am passing cars and everything else left right and centre. Goes top speed measured with my GPS at 47 km/h and lasts about 30km full tilltin with no pedal assist. I ride to work and back pedal assited for four days before I recharge it.  Take that, Winter!

This is my first new new bike. It is a Surly Steel. It is the colour of milk chocolate, and it is called The Stag.  In Toronto, it was freedom. Unharnessed from gridlock and public transport, the city shrunk.  In Kingston, it’s his my hot wheels, leaping across the city in a single bound.  On The Stag, breathing is a secondary function.

This is my YESS BMX Cruiser XL. Its pretty awesome. It has a super stiff rear end, and a nice long front triangle that gives us old guys lots of room to manoeuvre on the BMX track.  I have yet to give it a full go out of the gate but it feels super fast.  

This is my Intense BMX Junior XL.  Its Awesome.  It has super thin wheels, a handbrake (my first bike with a hand brake) and is a cool purple colour.  It goes much faster than my other bike, which is good because I am going to start racing it soon once I get a bit more comfortable on it.

My bike is awesome because someone given to me by a stranger 2 years ago, and despite it’s terrible condition always gets me to where I need to be.

My bike is Awesome because its my first two wheeler.  This Giant Pre Kick-Bike is super rad.  Its got beefy grips so the dont get holes from me dropping it, the wheels are sweet and the seat height is adjustable so I can adjust as my balance improves.  It doesnt have pedals, but thats because I’m too cool for pedals anyway.  I’ve already had 4 people ask me about it and I’ve only had it for 6 days.  Here I am practicing at the local tennis court.

This is my new (well, new to me) Motobecane road bike.  The previous owner really knew a lot about bikes and did a lot of overhauls, including brakes and gears.  This is my first road bike, and every morning and evening when I commute to and from work I am equal parts terror and exhilaration.  Love it!

Karin’s Radio Flyer Trike is her new best friend this summer.  It is still a shiny red with cream accents even though it is used.  Her older brother (5 1/2 years old) likes to play with it too.
